The Barony of the Flaming Gryphon is the west-central Ohio chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), established in 1979. We study and recreate the arts, skills, and traditions of pre-17th century Europe, and we welcome everyone who shares that curiosity.
The Barony operates under the governance of the Middle Kingdom Crown and currently encompasses five SCA branches across multiple Ohio counties. Our members include armored combatants, fencers, archers, artisans, bards, heralds, and many more.

Upcoming Baronial Transition
Following a six-month selection process, Syr Osmundus Thorkelsson and Mistress Thyra Bubbasdottir have been selected as incoming Baron and Baroness of the Flaming Gryphon. They will take office at the Grand Tournament of the Dragon / Baronial Investiture on April 11, 2026. We thank Sir Timothy and Baroness Elizabeta for four years of dedicated service to the Barony.
