Classes
This class covers Insular Celtic-style knotwork background, basic interlacing techniques, simple border and panel construction, and provides links to advanced sources for further research. This tutorial should be considered introductory in nature and assumes no experience in Celtic art or design; just a fascination with it! Techniques from this tutorial can be (and have been) applied to both hand-drawn and computer-constructed designs.
The handout for this class is free and available at Rolin’s website.
This class builds on the techniques learned in the Introduction course and discusses pattern analysis, doubled interlacing, and non-square grids.
The handout for this class is free and available at Rolin’s website.
There will be a space set up where bards are welcome to come and perform throughout the day. In addition, there will be two competitions.
Harvest Days Bardic Competition
The theme this year is Weather. The competition will be held in the bardic space at 1:00. All singers and storytellers are welcome to compete for bragging rights for a year. Winners are invited to help judge the following year. The winner will be announced following the Baronial Championship.
Flaming Gryphon Baronial Bardic Championship

The Baronial Championship will be held in the bardic space immediately after the Harvest Days Bardic Competition.

FAQ
There will be four to five food trucks on site, due to another large event occurring at the fairgrounds at the same time as Harvest Days.
There will not be any Midrealm Royalty at this event, so there will not be any Midrealm Tournaments. Court will only consist of Flaming Gryphon’s Baronial Court.
This event will primarily be held outside in a location that is flat but grassy. Indoor space (with carpeted concrete flooring as well as tables and chairs) is available. This site has accessible restrooms. The bardic space, silent auction fundraiser, some of the merchants, and Flaming Gryphon’s Baronial Court will all be held inside. Court will not have a stage/dais and will be wheelchair-accessible.
If the weather is bad, heavy fighting can be moved inside.
Service animals are always permitted. Pets are allowed if they’re on a leash (or contained in a pen/stroller) at all times.
Animals are allowed inside, but may be asked to be taken outside if there is a problem with noise/disturbances (especially since the Bardic Competitions and Flaming Gryphon’s Baronial Court will be taking place inside). We strongly encourage everyone to leave pets outside with a friend, if possible. The indoors areas are carpeted, so owners will be responsible for the cost of any clean-up.
Any animals (including service animals) are subject to ejection from the event if there are complaints of growling/lunging at people/dangerous behavior.
